Anise Hyssop - This mint family plant grows from 1-2 foot tall in a clump like upright shape. Hyssop is deer and drought tolerant and attracts a host of pollinating birds and insects. Each plant can produce up to 90,000 individual flowers!
Prairie Coreopsis - Sets striking yellow flowers for 3-4 weeks in mid June through July. Matures to a height of just 2 feet and prefers medium to dry soil conditions. Coreopsis is tolerant of poor soils and drought and deer resistant.
Showy Goldenrod - Featuring tiny bright yellow flowers, dense and club shaped clusters, Goldenrod typically grows 2-3’ tall. Flowers bloom mid to late summer in prairies throughout the Midwest. As the name suggests this is the showiest of the Goldenrod family
Butterfly Milkweed - This perennial thrives in sunny, dry fields and prairies. It’s blooming season is June through September. The plant is 1 to 2 feet tall and has 2-3 inch clusters containing up to 25 flowers. This is a favorite of Monarch butterflies.
Purple Coneflower - A hardy perennial wildflower that adapts easily to a range of growing conditions, including periods of heat and drought. Producing purple daisy like flowers coneflower grows to a height of 2-4 feet tall.
Sky Blue Aster - Easily grown in average, dry to medium, well drained soils in full sun to light shade. Typically grows 2-3’ tall with daisy like violet flowers that bloom in September and October.
